| Gecko House is a Fish Bay, St. John rental cottage. There are two comfortable bedrooms on separate floors, each with their own private entry and bath. Both units have full access to a hot tub situated on the lower deck which is surrounded by avocado, sour sop and banana fruit trees.
The upstairs studio apartment / bedroom has cypress-vaulted ceilings and Mexican tile floor throughout, lending a cozy and open-air feeling. The room is filled with natural light and is richly textured with colorful ethnic fabrics complimenting the owner's paintings and prints which grace the walls. Step outside onto the private, covered deck overlooking Fish Bay. This room is furnished with a queen size bed, two comfortable chairs for watching television, reading or relaxing, a kitchen table and chairs next to the kitchen, a full bath, and an outside deck with additional seating and eating area. |

The downstairs bedroom is not directly under the upper room, rather it is down a set of stairs and 20 feet along the deck. This room has a Queen size bed, chairs for seating, a large bath and closet, a small refrigerator and microwave, and an outside deck with table and chairs. |

Only three miles from Cruz Bay, this cool and comfortable, 2 bedroom cottage is situated in lush tropical surroundings, near a private cove perfect for beachcombing and kayaking. A private covered deck offers a gorgeous water view, while another open-air deck below overlooks a garden of tropical fruit trees and the tranquil Fish Bay beyond. Guests can also enjoy a little “hydro-therapy soak” amidst lush surroundings in the cottage’s brand new hot tub that offering both daytime unwinding and some serious nighttime stargazing.
The owner, who lives in an adjacent home, is an artist and filmmaker, and will leave you to relax or help you locate many of the artistic, cultural and recreational activities the island has to offer. There is even a studio available for artists who will undoubtedly find plenty of inspiration in this idyllic setting. Gecko House Studio is available to guests of Gecko House for an extra fee (please see rates below). The studio is fully equipped with a large working table, shelves for storage, two easels, and a full bath with an outdoor tiled shower - guests must bring their own art supplies as there are very limited art materials available on St. John for purchase.
Gecko house is at the end of a road, making it private, quiet, peaceful, and restful. You'll enjoy being away from hectic life in Cruz Bay, but close enough to go and enjoy dinner, shopping and nightlife, in only a 10-minute ride. With so much to do just in Fish Bay and the many other bays that make up the south shore of the island, you'll never want to leave. Come experience the undiscovered St. John - your vacation paradise! Season: December 15 - April 15: Low
Season: April 16 – December 14 Deposit: A check or money order in the amount of 50% of the total rental fee is required upon booking your reservation. The balance is due 2 months prior to your arrival date. Cancellation policy: Should you need to cancel your reservation for any reason, there will be a 20% cancellation fee charged. Your rental deposit may be refunded up to 2 months prior to your arrival date, subject to the cancellation fee. If you need to cancel within 2 months of your stay, your payment will be refundable, less the cancellation fee, only if we are able to re-rent the cottage during your rental period. We do everything we can to help fill dates that must be cancelled. However, we suggest you purchase trip insurance to mitigate any cancellation if sickness, hurricane, airline failure, or any other unforeseen events change your plans.
